Voices, Brass & Pipes

... was the name of our concert at the Segerstrom Concert Hall tonight. It is nice to have friends 'in high places', because we got our free tickets from one of the founders of the Center.
This was the opening concerts of their 47th season with the huge organ (4,322 pipes) and 140 singers of the chorale and local monks chanting gregorian hymns. Plus the Pacific Symphony is the largest orchestra formed in the USA in the last 50 years.
The Performing Arts Center was built for the residents of Orange County, so we would not have to drive to LA anymore. Orange County is celebrating it's 125th birthday... in 1889 it became a separate county. So this is a very young country, isn't it. And therefore I feel like a pioneer.
