Scott's Monument

After a weekend of hijinks, this Monday morning seemed duller than usual even if His Lordship tried his best to make up for the joie de vivre of 5 daughters.
Not that I'm suggesting for a minute that he danced on the table while I clapped my hands, but at least his 'door' was ajar inviting entry and communication.

We needed to walk to the station and renew our railcards for our train journeys next month and found it warm enough to feel overdressed wearing jackets- strange weather for the last days of October, but complaining we are not.

Sir Walter Scott would be chuffed to know that Edinburgh City Council are making money charging tourists to exhaust themselves climbing 287 steps to the top of his monument for the princely sum of £4:00.
Maybe the view from the top is worth it, I can't remember.
