The Hand

Today has been a truly miserable day weather wise in West Cumbria.

I had to take a trip to Cleator Moor in the pouring rain to meet a client.

As I walked back to the car I spotted this metal hand which I've never noticed before. So whilst huddled under my brolly and with one hand I managed to snap this on my phone.

It is one of three sculptures by the artist Conrad Atkinson who was born in Cleator Moor in 1940.

The Hand represents the "hand of friendship " as well as the hand of a miner.

I'll try to blip the other two in the future and hopefully the weather will be a bit better!
