Tom's SOS Morgan

It was a wonderful morning for our friend Tom and his family. Some months ago Tom had a health scare and after that his daughter Nicola wrote to ask a TV show Car SOS if they would fix an old 3-wheeler Morgan he'd had in a shed for many years. The production team decided it would be a good plan, and with a lot of secrecy it was organised as a big surprise. She invited many friends and the village pipe band also turned out. This morning the car was driven along the lane in to Tom's field (the one I've blipped before with the mini Stonehenge), followed by the pipe band, then the rest of us in procession. However for some filming reason, the band had to mime, then once Tom had got the surprise, we all had to go back, and do it again with the band playing, minus the car. There's food and drinks to celebrate, with live music played by friends, in the pub all day, but unfortunately I can't go as I'm needed to babysit in Whitley Bay.

I couldn't decide on a picture as it was difficult to get the whole car in the picture with Tom in it, because of the crowd. On the top left is the car, pictured while we all hung around waiting for the TV people to sort it out. Top right is Tom driving off, with one of the pipers on the right. You can see all the TV people on the bottom left - I think one is filming me photographing him. On the right is Tom and his daughter.
