Lunch on wheels

After a busy working week, a chill-out Saturday is very welcome. Started mine today with a blissful lie-in, then a quick trip to the village delicatessen, and a lazy morning before heading to Bluewater for a bit of retail therapy and to meet some friends for lunch.

We went to the Wahaca, the restaurant chain founded by Thomasina Miers, winner of the 2005 MasterChef series. The Mexican street food they serve is not too spicey but absolutely delicious. Yum!

We were lucky to find that one of the two 1950s Volkswagen Transporters they have at the restaurant - with their roofs and side doors removed to turn them into highly novel tables-on-wheels - was newly vacated. So naturally that was where we chose to sit. We had a really enjoyable lunch with lots of good food and conversation. Perfect!
