Peniscola Castle

Peniscola Castle was built by the Knights Templar and at one point housed a pope! Damaged by the French during the Napoleonic Wars it was rebuilt in the 1950s and then used as part of the set of El Cid.

Amazing old town and a wonderful beach and perfect place to visit as a family.
