RUNNING AWAY FROM ME OR WE?

... that seems to be the question?


WE-ME art installation at Oslo Central Station made by Julia Vance.

The sculptures are made in Italy and had problem to get inside the country. The artist said this is sculptures, the Norwegian customs said that this can not be called sculptures art since the customs guidelines describes sculptures as carved, molded, or modeled - not welded, as Vance's sculptures are. They wanted her to pay import duty. Rules are rules and we don't make the rules and accord to the rules this is not art.
And if you can give us proof that this is art..
Well you can imagine the frustration for the artist. After some weeks and publicity, the problem got solved.

The artist made the WE-ME to inspire us to make a better world by showing solidarity.
