Gillipaw's Journal

View from George V Bridge, Glasgow

I was whisked into town this afternoon in a brand new Mercedes sports car. So cool, it assessed my weight in the seat and adjusted the safety belt accordingly.

So the low down view over to the Riverboat Casino, with the grand Clydeport Building beyond. I've been in Clydeport once, on Doors Open Day. It was like stepping back in time. Designed by JJ Burnet 1883-6. French walnut panelling and Stephen Adam stained glass. I remember taking tea in china cups there. Very posh.

I was so busy today, I forgot it was Guy Fawkes Night. Suddenly the city was ablaze with colour and bangs everywhere. A clear night, so fab views to the display at Glasgow Green, and one locally which looked like fairies dancing across the sky. Never seen anything like that before.
