I'm Thankful for...........

I do five classes at the gym between Monday and Thursday. The last of these sessions each week is a class called ‘Strength, Stretch and Relax’. It’s a combination of Pilates and Yoga. We spend an hour stretching out our muscles by getting ourselves into the weirdest of positions. We stretch out muscles we didn’t even know we had. At the end of the class we all feel about a foot taller and wonderfully relaxed.

Shay runs this class. She’s used to be a dancer so the positions we’re supposed to get into look easy when she demonstrates them. At the moment though she’s eight months pregnant. Baby Leo is due to make an appearance on the 16th December so for now we have to do the stretches from memory and/or a verbal description. That gives the class a bit of an extra ‘something’ but I’m just thankful that she’s managed to keep the class running for so long into her pregnancy. Shay will be missed while she’s on maternity leave but we’ll appreciate her all the more when she comes back in the New Year.
