Company Parade

Once in a while it would be nice to start a weekend without the sentence 'another early start'. However ..

Another early start, as Sal was due at a gymnastics competition in Heathrow at 8.45 and Grace needed to be up early to shine her shoes before the school's Remembrance Day Parade.

The Army, Navy and RAF contingents of the School's Combined Cadet Force assembled outside school at 10.00 and then marched, accompanied by the band drums, through the village to the Chapel. The roads are closed by the police, and hundreds of parents, teachers and local residents come out to line the route and then follow the parade to the Chapel for the outdoor service led by the School Chaplain.

Despite every child being given a Mars bar for energy before the march and service, there were three fainters. Wreaths were laid at the War Memorial by the School Captains and Heads of the three local schools.

The pic shows the School's SSI keeping 'Company' on track: 'Yeft, Roight, Yeft, Roight, Yeft, Roight ..'

I think it might be better bigger.
