Family outing

Cooper, our white boxer, is nearly nine now and has suffered a range of illnesses over his life. None of them have kept him from running around like a lunatic for too long, including the five or six mast cell tumours he has had removed over the years. His most recent tumours were not completely removed by surgery so he started chemotherapy last week, along with daily tablets that make him drink like Nicholas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas and pee like a race horse. Betty, our little brindle boxer puppy, is the latest addition to our family and is now twelve weeks old. Having received the last of her vaccinations last week, today was the first chance we had to get her and Cooper out for a walk together. At home it is sometimes hard to remember which one is the pup, and this walk wasn't any different.

It had been a pretty crap day today. The usual Saturday where we plan so much and get so little done. We spent most of the day at Ikea, Costo and M&S shopping, so it was nice to get the whole family out (our cat, Marty, was on the walk too but he is out of shot running through someone's garden) and relax for a while. I use the term "relax" loosely. It's hard to relax completely on a walk with two boxers and a 5-year-old boy.
