On Romany Ridge

Far from rushing wheels,
Madding crowd of silver birch,
Reaching for the sun.

.... I am so glad I don't have to commute to work anymore.... had to do a emergency dash to Haywards Heath as Mark had to get to London for a dress rehearsal and our trains were being a bit temperamental....

On the way over the rain was lashing down and the roads were rivers .... but on the way back the skies had cleared so Sadie and I stopped at Romany Ridge on Chailey Common form a quick walk ....

... it was very wet underfoot and we did manage to get a bit lost as most of the paths had become streams, but oh it was glorious!

A couple of alternatives here.

A bit of proper poetry from Thomas Gray...

Far from the madding crowd's ignoble strife,
Their sober wishes never learn'd to stray;
Along the cool sequester'd vale of life
They kept the noiseless tenour of their way.

Still got to catch up on comments from yesterday ..... thanks for sticking with me lovely blippers x

Note to self: try ands use the word "sequestered" tomorrow ...
