A bundle of sunlight

Armistice Day is a public holiday in Belgium, a solemn day in this country which suffered so much in WWI and this year's commemoration was extra special because it also meant the end of the 100th year anniversary of the beginning of WWI.

Husband and I were going to walk in the woods in the afternoon, but we weren't the only ones wanting to do that. There were no parking places left near the woods, which also meant it wouldn't have been much fun walking in a kind of queue, so we returned home and husband washed the car instead ;-)

I had planned on taking a picture in the woods, and now had to depend on the pictures I had taken earlier. This one is a composite, the bundle of sunlight falling on the tree root was really asking for a bird, squirrel or even a cat to appear there, but they didn't during the time that the light fell there. I waited and waited :-) Without anything there it was such an empty picture that in the end I inserted the visiting cat that has made the base of the tree its favourite place to hang and relax. Because it's a composite I'm not adding this to the Lovers of Light competition.

Thanks very much for your lovely comments and stars on yesterday's medlar fruits :-)
