Toasting

The memory of a formidable woman.

I found out yesterday that the lady who was Deputy Head during my High school years had passed away after battling cancer.

I confess that it upset me more than I expected and I did find myself choked up when I was telling Corin about her and some of the kindnesses that she showed me.

The memory of her has always influenced me, particularly as I progressed through my teaching career.

So, Mrs Thorley, I raise my glass to you and I hope that, if there is a Heaven, you are up there checking skirt length, getting the make up off and confiscating non approved jewellery!!!
