the condemnation of repetition

One unforeseen risk of not re-installing the architrave from the front door after it was removed to re-hang the door the other way round in order to be able to get the old sofa into the flat (erm... nine years ago) was that the pieces were then at risk of being accidentally included amongst the pile of what was seen as spare bits of wood which were taken to Nicky's allotment at some point last year and which have therefore been sitting outside all winter and are probably no longer in a state to re-fit to the door-frame, even though they would then have been sanded and re-painted. Tomorrow's exciting holiday-task shall be to fit new ones and paint them, sand and paint the kitchen door and move the books and bookshelf back through from the bedroom now that the skirting-board behind where the bookshelves used to sit has now been satisfactorily repainted.
