A scruffy "bridgeless" banjo...

But with quite a chequered history. It seems in 1936, Alvin Keech, the maker of it, made a present of it to one of my mum's two brothers, both of whom in those days were then touring what we called " the Music Halls," right across the USA, as part of a threesome, comedy, close harmony group, "The Three Admirals". Back home they were one of the earliest acts to be seen on televison, transmitted then from Alexandra Palace It was passed down the family over the years, ending up with me to pass on :)
