Fungi

At this time of year - and particularly this year, I think , because of the dampness that followed on a dry September - there are fungi everywhere.

In most grassy fields there are at least half a dozen types at present and the scattering of leaves amongst them makes for for some fascinating contrasts.

However they come and go very quickly. Two I noticed yesterday were completely away by this morning probably trampled or eaten by deer.
