Monday 6 November 2006: Otter Spotting
Dull stormy day.Went out otter spotting this morning - checked out the usual haunts but nothing around. I never know whether we should go early in the morning, at day break or wait until the tide is falling - probably both. We've been seeing lot this year, including pups, even during the height of tourist time. The next big purchase is a spotting scope for close ups.
We did find two skins from newly killed deer stashed in some rocks probably the result of some poaching - interesting if a bit gruesome.
Also saw the Ronja Pioneer, going through the narrows. She's a state of the art, 11250 tonne 'live fish' carrier taking salmon from farms back to Norway.
