Day through a lens

The mysterious case of the light in the night

The pull cord in the toilet got stiff, sometimes the light didn't come on (or go off) without a lot of effort or several tries. It got harder, and harder until one day the light didn't come on. And that was that. We put an LED push light on the cistern. Everyone finally got used to the fact that the pull cord didn't work.

I came up the stairs to find the light spilling onto the landing. When? How?!

Turns out the cat, having one of his crazy turns, running the catalympics had been swinging off the light cord. My fault; despite the sign (out of shot) on the door requesting it be kept shut; I left the door open. There were a lot of swinging, between the toilet and the bathroom (next door). At some point the swinging was of sufficient strength or momentum that whatever had gone wrong inside the light pull was righted.

Yes, my cat fixed the toilet light.
