The Inspection.

My sister has several bee hives now and entered her honey into a competition this afternoon at the Edinburgh Botanics.

Assessing the quality of entries involved not only tasting but sniffing (aroma) and torch inspection (crystallisation=fail). It's a very serious business.

My wee blister won 3rd prize in the 'Novelty' section (honey not up to Scottish Bee Keeping Association standard but still quite good?!!!) and 2nd prize for 'Novice' comb honey. There were two entrants in that section.

We just slap it on a bit of toast and think it tastes fantastic. Well done Margaret!
