It's Grim Up North

Skelwith Bridge

What can I say?
Bridge with the river Brathay running underneath it.
Good cake at the café next to the bridge.

Bumped into the friends we often bump into when we walk in the Lakes. Four or five times a year when strolling along a footpath, tramping through a muddy field or sidling into a café somewhere in the Lake District, there are J and C, ambling towards us. And Cumbria is quite a large county.

I've known J and C since we were all in our twenties, we used to work together. Today C remarked that these days she works with people who are younger than cardigans that she owns and still wears.
