The Peaks

Since much walking is out of the question we decided to do a driveabout today! We had a picnic next to a reservoir and drove through the Peaks, up and down and all around! The light was pretty spectacular for some of it, we caught the best part of the day. Drove through some very interesting little villages too and even walked in the park of one as we needed to stop there for loos. Their little stream was a raging torrent, only inches from the top, I think there are going to be floods in the Peak District before long if this weather keeps up!

Spent the rest of the day relaxing, still don't have much energy. Had to give up on it mid afternoon though it started raining anyway! Made for a good little time out, and we came back through Castleton again - via an incredibly steep road, first gear was required!

We're pretty enchanted with this area, definitely going to come here again on holiday we've decided today, hopefully won't be ill next time! May come next Summer. I'm having doubts as to whether I can manage this graduation thing on Thursday. We shall see. It's been a good relaxing break for us so far regardless!
