My life

I wonder.......

........what he'd have made of it all!?

Missed the Manchester Blipmeet yesterday as I was working but we arranged to meet friends there today. So here is my blip.

It was absolutely heaving everywhere, impossible to browse the market stalls as we were swept up in the movement of so many people. But the weather was lovely and we enjoyed a few tipples and some food and a catch up then made our way back to the station and returned home. Thankfully not too far to travel as it was standing room only on the train!

The statue that overlooks Albert Square is Prince Albert consort to Queen Victoria........
Albert Square's largest monument is the Albert MemorialGrade I, commemorating the Prince Consort. It features a marble statue of Albert standing on a plinth and facing west, designed by Matthew Noble (1862–1867). The figure is placed within a large Medieval-style ciborium which was designed by the architect Thomas Worthington. Noble was commissioned by the then mayor, Thomas Goadsby, to sculpt the Prince's likeness, and the designs were personally approved by Queen Victoria.[3]
