Saturday 13 March 2010: Praying to the Gods of Rugby
Scotland 15, England 15. Not entirely satisfactory, but some decent attacking play from Scotland. They may not have deserved a win, but they certainly didn't deserve to lose... So the result is probably reasonably fair. Nail biting stuff at times!
Dan Parks kicked penalties fairly well. He got a couple of long ones that Patterson would have struggled with, but also hit the posts twice...
Patterson seems very calm when place kicking. Johnny Wilkinson always hovers like he's in a French public toilet while preparing himself. Dan Parks on the other hand always seems nervous, usually returning to fiddle with the angle of the ball a couple of times then having a few false starts at a run up. He does pretty well, but I rather liked this capture of him setting up - it makes it look like he's praying to the gods of rugby!
