Grebe family fishing

The young were learning to fish today. They are much more splashy than the parents maybe because they just pop up so fast.  Not sure who caught this fish.

Just after this one of the chicks decided he (?she) was tired and wanted a piggy back. There was a race with the adult swimming fast to avoid this.  The chick swam faster or maybe caught hold of the tail feathers, any way it got a ride.

Some of the grebe pairs seem to be nesting again and starting their next brood.
