A Day Worth Recording

Reborn

The other fireplace that now has its stove in place.

The fireplace you see hasn't been seen since probably the 1970's, going by the style of the gas fire that was in front of the bricked-up wall.  The bricks you see now are the original, carefully excavated by the installers.

Even before they'd fitted the stove and it was a pile of rubble it looked better than the gas fire.  Now we have a few decades of dampness in the wall to shift.

Both fires are belting out heat, and a certain amount of smell as the paint finally cures.  We're assured that's only for a day or so.

Went to the Malvern cinema for the first time today, to see The Imitation Game.

Excellent film, and indeed a rather nice cinema.  Not been to one where you book individual seats before.
