Mothers Day

Mothers Day

Went to the graveyard with flowers for my mother's grave. My granddaughter is helping to arrange them. My mother unfortunately never lived to see either of her three great granddaughters. One of the songs we played after she died was Jimmy McCarthy's No Frontiers.

No Frontiers
If life is a river and your heart is a boat
And just like a water baby, born to float,
And if life is a wild wind that blows way on high,
And your heart is Amelia dying to fly,
Heaven knows no frontiers and I've seen heaven in your eyes

In this verse he writes of his mother who was learning to fly in the nineteen sixties, unusual for a woman at the time, but has to give up because she was six months pregnant and could not get into the small cockpit on the single engine plane.
