Research trip day 1: Food to Go*

I flew cross-continent today, looked out over the cordillera like it was a rumpled carpet. Now I'm inhaling fragrant breezes under darkening blue skies. The café owner downstairs tells me the rain stopped on Friday and that's probably it until Thanksgiving.
