No swimming

Not that you'd want to - the water looks a bit murky and there's some green slimy stuff growing on the surface! But this is a very good sign for the gardens. It's the first time for a year that this little reservoir has been full.

Unlike other villages, ours has its own water supply from the Resclause spring. Any excess water is stored in this reservoir and a stream leads down the hill past the gardens providing free water for our vegetables when it's running. It should carry on now until about the end of June, when we'll have to start paying for water again. I've put some more pictures of the stream and the old buildings on the hillside here.
