As we prepare for Farm Day (my siblings, their kids, their kids' kids, my kids, the whole shebang) Saturday, I'm painting, which is not my favorite thing to do.

However, since moving to this 5-acre farm in 2003, RED has become a theme around the house. I've always liked the color, but red things started appearing in our furnishings here, and magically almost every room has a touch of it. Today I'm painting things red, and you know? It's not too bad!

So, these accent bits are going in the downstairs bathroom. I'm using my mom's vintage '50s tablecloths for curtains and a sink skirt. I guess it works since this is an old country farmhouse. I'll show you the curtains when they're done.

Ironically, the barns that came with this place are green.
