Blackbird Damage!

A few days ago I began putting waste cooking apples out on our deck for the blackbirds, and it has been interesting watching them devour them with such ardour!
Today I cam across the remains of one of the apples, and they don't eat apple cores either!
They have left the lower pert of the skin almost intact, taking the fruity fleshy part very carefully!
Not the best photograph I have taken, but the story is worth the effort.
Interesting also, it seems only blackbirds like apples.
