Friday 19 March 2010: Sunny days
Today I saw a cloud of smoke coming from the back of the Outeniqua Mountains.
Since Hansie Cronje's accident and untimely death when his aircraft went into the mountains, I have always been fearful of these mountains and aircraft ...
Then I remembered that the authorities intended to burn down some vegetation in the water catchment areas. This is to facilitate the flow of rain water into the rivers that feed our dam.
With the downpour this week, about 10mm, the dam level has climbed to 25%, which is positive. We need much more, but we are thankful for every drop that comes our way.
These two gazanias drew my attention when I was putting the washing on the line.
