Wednesday 24 March 2010: Death row

The trees at the property across the street from us were marked before the winter.
They've carried their red crosses proudly through the rains, the storms, the freezing temperatures, the heaps of snow.

I was hoping that the owner of the property had forgotten about them. We know they are working on getting the building torn down and the ground sold, but it goes at a snail's pace ... if at any pace at all.
Last week there was movement. Cars were driving around, people out and about.
Today a guy was sawing down some of the smaller trees. It looked like he had no idea what he was doing and I wished for a more swift and skilled executioner.

I don't know how long these ones still have left. Today could have been their last day, but it's not impossible they'll be here for another month. I decided to Blip them today, for posterity and just in case.
