Car parking Havana style!

The city traffic is a fabulous mix of horse-drawn carriages (tourists), pedal bike taxis (illegal to carry tourists apparently - if you get caught...), motorised bike taxis, 1950s / 1960s American cars, a lot of former Eastern bloc Ladas (last seen in Prague circa 1985) and a few brand new cars (which I suspect are owned by diplomats). The cars are incredibly expensive (a 25-year old Lada is likely to set you back the equivalent of about £10,000!!!), are held together with lots of paint and some ingenious engineering, belt out a lot of black smoke between them and pretty much all become taxis on demand.

Love it.
