Well, Well, Wellington

When I first moved to Edinburgh, I went for a trip on one of the tourist buses. I remember the guide saying something along the lines of this: "on your left is the statue of the Duke of Wellington. Remarkably, over 90% of the statue's weight is in the horse's tail, anchoring it to the plinth."

In spite of someone (whose opinion can usually be relied upon) telling me this was complete and utter horse crap, I still secretly like the idea.
