Trust us to pick the best of the weather so far to go INDOOR karting. But after missing out yesterday [backblip] we had decided to pre-book our sessions for today to make sure we didn't have the kids' lips trembling when they couldn't get on (kids being me and my neebur, not Euan and his pal)

Great fun though, and slightly harder work than I remember; I'm typing this up with aching forearms after fighting with the steering on these slippery beasts. The sensation of speed when you're so low to the ground on these karts is fantastic and means 40mph feels a LOT faster, and when you're shunted by another kart in this 'non-contact' sport you really feel it.

Here we have, hidden underneath their substantial safety helmets, Euan (No 19) and his wee pal (No 18) just after their first round of 10 laps.

Off to finish the Spag Bols now and settle down in front of the telly for the last round of The Masters
