Friday 16 April 2010: Scenic waterways
Today was another lovely day. After work hubby and I drove out towards Bandon. Along Hwy 101 going south, there are these neat little waterways that wind around what look like small meadows or islands of grass called sloughs - this is Davis Slough. It's so beautiful and I've always wanted to stop and explore. During calm weather the water is so smooth that there is usually great reflections. We turned off the highway on a little road that leads to some horse stables. This is a shot taken along side this little road. Hubby and I thought it would be neat to come out with our Kayaks sometime and paddle through these waterways.
Back on Hwy 101 we drove south to Bullards Beach State Park where the Coquille River Lighthouse is. We explored around the lighthouse and watched some fascinating little birds that were all over the lighthouse rocks. There were some huge vultures that looked like they were fighting. I managed to get a few shots of them with my zoom, but they weren't very sharp and they weren't very pretty :)
This looks the best in large.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by.
