Going north

Leaving early for a destination way up north, these images show some of the countryside we passed through.

There was enough evidence of good rains and lush growth - probably all the rain that
by-passed our area!

Overcast conditions prevailed much of the way, it it was clear that the rain clouds had some more drops to spill.

The image on the left is of beautiful country side just outside of Graaff-Reinett in the Karoo, while the right hand image shows a bit of the Orange Free State, just past Bloemfontein.
These images were shot while travelling at about 120km/h, which explains the out of focus foreground.

A long and exhausting journey which also took us on a forced detour: about 70 kms on one of our country's infamous potholed roads, really a question of ducking and d(r)iving.

Good to be 'home' again!
