Sunday 25 April 2010: THANKS STEVE, THANKS JACK!
The history behind this shot is that my friend, who lives quite near to Kirkcaldy, had, much to my chagrin, taken himself off to the art gallery to view the Jack Vettriano exhibition. To say that I was green with envy was an understatement.
So, yesterday, just as we were about to leave the house for our trip to the coast, we were accosted by the postman who gave me a parcel. I opened it in the car and was thrilled to find a copy of the aforementioned exhibition catalogue. I didn't think I could get any more excited but, upon opening the front cover, I found that my lovely, lovely friend had been kind enough to ask Jack, himself, to put an inscription in the flyleaf for me. It was almost as good as actually getting to see the exhbition myself.
It is raining here today, which, after such a lovely day yesterday has resulted in a langorous mood that has involved catching up with friends via the telephone and letters.
