Who am I to disagree?

Another bird watching day today. It started well with a couple of bullfinches posing on the silver birch outside our window. We then headed up to Montrose Basin to be in time for high tide. We were joined by two SWT Rangers who were performing the Wetlands Bird Survey (WeBS) monthly count. It was an education to be in the same hide as people who just know what a bird is as opposed to ourselves who tend to wade through the bird books and even then either fail to identify it or possibly misidentify it.

After high tide we moved on to RSPB's Loch of Kinnordy reserve where the above pair of Teal Anas crecca were taken then with the intention of coming back to see the ospreys at Loch of the Lowes we headed up around Craigvinean Forest in search of hazyheap's Alaskan snow pheasant. After getting a couple of good photos the draw of a cup of tea back in Perth was too strong to resist so the ospreys will have to wait for another day.
