Monday 26 April 2010: Black Hole

Another disadvantage of our remote location is that we do not have satellite coverage.
So no internet. I am not able to login to Blip, but my dear Sister is so kind to put them on the site for me.
We do have another satellite communication system but that is not suitable for broadband internet. It is called Fleet77 and for telephone calls and e-mail it works good but slow. So the dome on this picture is temporarily out of order until we pick up the South African satellite signals. In the meantime our engineers are busy making a platform under the dome, so in case of maintenance or changing the LNB of the antenna, it provides a safe working platform.
