Sightseeing

Seen from the coolingwater inlet:
Unit EC 20.
Also: a radartower, part of the shipping traffic control
At the left a breakwater, part of the former coolinwaterintake.
Formerly it used to be a inlet "harbour" but almost the whole year round a dredger had to keep the harbour free of sand.
When the new units were built it was decided to get the water from the depth close to the shipping lane but the Waddensea (and the Eems estuary) goes its own way and the sand is now around the intake....

Here is a view at the inlet with two men from the maintenance department on a sightseeing tour just like us...
