Sunday 2 May 2010: Backstreet

Still a bit unsettled after yesterday's news. Agreed to go watch the Liverpool-Chelsea game with the daughter. This much I know about Bolton fans - they hate Man U. They also like Liverpool. So would they cheer on Liverpool knowing that a 'pool win would put Man U in pole position in the league? Or would they favour a Chelsea win despite the fact that Chelsea are soft rich southern *******s?
It was nearly academic. Went to the 'Lion of Vienna' - no TVs! On to the Beehive - deserted and no wonder. Quick dash to the Howcroft - they were showing some TV drama! WTF? Stands England where it did? Eventually stumbled into the 'Royal Hotel' and it was on.
No comment on the clientèle. Let's just say mixed. Smoking allowed indoors in Bolton, it would appear. And the daughter had forgotten her money. And yes, the Chelsea win appeared to find favour.
