Sunday 2 May 2010: The Maiden Voyage

This afternoon hubby and I set out for Tugman State Park to take our kayaks out for the first time. There is a really nice lake called Eel Lake there. It was a perfect day, no wind and relatively warm. We spent a few hours out there and it was really fun.

We spotted a Great Blue Heron and I was able to come up fairly close to him before he flew away. Later on the other side of the lake we spotted him again.

I wasn't going to bring my good camera out, but my husband thought I might regret it if I didn't. I had bought a waterproof bag and that is what I had my camera bag in. I'm glad I listened to him because I would have never been able to shoot the heron with my point and shoot very good.

Here is a short video hubby took of me.

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!

Thanks for stopping by.
