Monday 3 May 2010: Coldfinger
Today was the day it rained. And rained and rained and rained. And thundered and lightninged and hailed.
We tried the first of the Islands two indoor attractions -- the underground aquarium -- but it was closed due to 'WAITING FOR ADVISE', whatever that means. Luckily the second, the caves at the north of the island, were open. The guide told us they'd been completely dry since the end of the ice age then led us into the centre of the network and choreographing a performance of man-made waterfalls, ethereal music, strobe and UV lights. Perhaps he's learned over the years that natural history is a bit dull in its... um... natural state.
This is a shot of the bay at Port De Sant Miquel, taken just above the entrance to the caves. If you look closely you'll see a seriously cool James Bond Baddie pad on the island in the centre. From which I'll be running my global empire, as soon as I have the readies.
