A Botanical Attempt

Thought I would try something botanical for my blip today.
These succulent plants grow wild around Taylor?s Mistake Beach. I took some cuttings and planted them in a very dry patch in my garden where not much else will grow and they are flourishing and fill in a gap nicely.
I'm not sure of the Botanical name but know they originate from the coast of the Mediterranean. One theory is the seed came back to N.Z on the coats of the horses returning from Turkey after the first world war. These horses were unloaded in Lytelton and quarantined in Sumner which is were these plants now grow wild.
I have not seen them growing wild anywhere else in N.Z.
