Sailfish

The funnel picture has to wait another day again because of a very funny encounter with a yacht this afternoon. Our position is 150 miles south-southwest of Dakar now and this area is a well known upwelling area. Two large ocean current meet here, a warm one and a cold one. An upwelling area is a location where cold oxygen rich water is pushed to the surface. It attracts an awful lot of fish. This yacht, with two French guys on board , had a trailing fishing line behind and at the very moment they were waiving while passing us, a big sailfish grabbed the bait and pulled the skipper almost overboard.
