Monday 17 May 2010: a return to the old elementary school haunts
My friend and I returned to our elementary school today to see how well the nature trails had withstood the test of time. The wooden boardwalk over the bog-like forest floor was a bit shaky, but everything seemed to be just as I remembered - lots of overgrown plants and trees, and mosquitoes galore. Eventually we hacked our way to the pond, which was virtually ripple-free. It made for some nice reflective shots! There appeared to be a good amount of fish swimming beneath the murky, mosquito egg-filled water too. I guess we'll have to return tomorrow with our fishing rods!
