Friday 21 May 2010: IN THE MERRY, MERRY MONTH OF MAY
Today's photograph was taken when I nipped out into the garden to hang out some washing. I was thankful that the May Blossom is coming out as I didn't really have much time to go in search of any other suitable subject matter.
My lack of time for blip searching was due to the fact that the painter is coming on Monday to start decoratig my bedroom and living room. As a consequence I thought I had better stir my stumps and move the books from the shelves in the living room out of the way. It was very slow progress though as upon placing the books in the crates that were to be stored in another room I was waylaid by rather a lot of poetry books whose pages I hadn't opened in a while. First of all Wendy Cope's book Serious Concerns had to be perused and then Brendan Kenelly's Breathing Spaces drew my attention. I was then assailed by Ten Modern Arab Poets and couldn't quite manage to finish the task of packing away my books wiithout giving the poem Lives, by Derek Mahon an airing.
Needless to say it took rather a long while for me to acheive my goal.
