Magpie

Another grey heron (Ardea cinerea). This one was stalking wee fish at the bottom of the Redhall Mill Weir.

This is a magpie (Pica pica) down by the water. Just preferred it to yet another heron shot... :)


Allotment early, then off to the Colinton section of the Water of Leith. This summer, I have decided that I will manage to photograph a kingfisher....

In the evening, up to town to see a fine gig from Dave Rovics and Attila the Stockbroker; the latter has written a wonderful long poem about and for his mother as they cope with her Alzheimers. Wonderful work.

PS:The female osprey at Loch of the Lowes has just hatched her 57th egg!!! One more to go....
